Chevalier de Seingalt (1725-1798) wrote a long memoir recounting his life and adventures
The lecture and the reading both discuss the accuracy of Chevalier de Seingalt memoir. Lastly, the reading passage argues that he bribed the jail officials to escape from the prism and he didn't escape from the jail ceiling. The lecture refutes this claim by pointing out that other prisoners are more powerful than him and he escaped from the top of the jail room. Moreover, the professor says the vanes government documents mentioned the jail room was repaired after he escapes from jail.
