Did the Dinosaurs endothermic ?reading passage support the statement and lecture oppose the statement by providing the reasons. question is like that summarize the points made in the lecture being sure to explain how they chal

The reading passage claims the dinosaurs to be endotherms. However, the professor, in her lecture, kept forward strong explanation in contrast to the idea presented in the passage. The professor argues that dinosaurs were not endotherms by presenting the points and casting doubt on the reason presented in the reading.

The first point the professor mentions in order to present her contrasting view to the reading is regarding the polar dinosaurs. The author of the passage argues that as the dinosaurs were found living in the cold environment they must be endotherms. However, the professor has different views. According to the professor, the polar region at that time used to be warmer than present days. The discussion about the polar dinosaurs differ in the reading. The professor further mentions that the polar dinosaurs might have migerated or even hibernated during the winter. Thus the professor's point is valid to doubt the passage.

The next thing the professor states while opposing the passage is the position of legs. The passage claims that as the legs of the animal was underneath the body, it supported efficient running so it must be endotherms. On the contrary, the professor states that the legs were positioned so as to support more weight of the animal.

Furthermore, the professor counter the next explanation made by the passage about Haversian canal in bone structure. The passage mentions that presence of this canal allows rapid growth which is the characteristics of endothermy. However, the professor claims that there was growth ring in the dinasours bone structure indicating that the growth was not constant. the dinosour being non-endotherms, experiences halt in growth during cold season.
