five days or four days employees

The reading and lecture are the both discussed about a working plan which present five days a week for eight hours each day. The reading says that workers are willing to work earn and less money and provides several reasons. However, the professor opposes it and refutes each author’s reasons.

First of all, the first argument used by author is that these plan will increase companies’ profit since the rested worker will make fewer errors in their work. Moreover, thanks to 4 days plan, companies can recruit more staff without paying much more money. However, the professor refutes it by saying that this plan will force to spend much more money and there will be extra cost such as providing training, new office space and they will be cut of profits.

Secondly, reading claims that one of main advantage of these plan is that reducing unemployment rate. If all workers prefer to work 4 days, It will create new available jobs. But, the speaker claims that not all workers will choose it. The plan may raise expectation of employers such as working extra, adding new workload.

Lastly, the reading posits that It has benefit for lives of employees such as pursuit private interest enjoyable activities, extra times for families. With this plan workers might have more free time in their private life. The speaker refutes it and says they might harm their carrier and lose their job at crises times. What is more, Companies might choose five days worker at management point.
