the fossils of bees founded in million years ago

Essay topics:

the fossils of bees founded in million years ago

both the author and the lecturer discuss whether bees exist on earth as early as 200 million years ago or not. The passage claims that many skeptics doubt that fossilized structures exist in the state of Arizona that resembles bee nests were created by them. The professor, on the other hand, completely rejects whatever mentioned in the reading through citing three reasons.

first, both the author and the professor talk about absence of fossil of actual bees. According to the passage the earliest fossil of bee date back to 100 million years ago which is a half as old as the fossilized structure discovered in Arizona. The lecturer, nevertheless, rejects the author's view and illustrates the idea that bee could not be preserved because of a sticky liquid called resin did not produced by trees. Therefore, no remnant of bee back to 200 million years old does not mean it did not exist.

Second of all, both the reading and lecture discuss the lack of flowering plants. The author argues that flowering plants first appeared on earth 125 million years ago, so it is unlikely bees could have existed before that time. However, the professor refutes this, saying that before appearance of flowering plant, non-flowering plants such as ferns or pine trees have existed. In other words, they precede flowering plant and bees fed on them. Later when flowering plant evolved, bees have adapted themselves to them.

Eventually, both the passage and the lecture address the subject of some detail's lack. The passage goes on to mention that fossilized structures found in Arizona lack some of the finer details of bee's nests such as spiral caps. In contrast, the professor points out that there is a chemical evidence support the idea that bees built the chambers. when fossilized chambers were chemically analyzed, it turned out that they contained some waterproof materials that is used by modern bees.
