franchise businsess

Essay topics:

franchise businsess

The reading passage and lecture tell about the new owner should buy a franchaise or start a new independent business. The author believes that it is always better to buy franchises instead of starting a new business. The speaker in the listening passage disagrees. He claims that there are still many disadvantages to buying franchises.

Firstly, the article posits that new business requires goods and services and while buying these goods new owners might do mistakes to avoid this franchise can be helpful to buy these goods from reliable suppliers. the franchise does have a tie-up with many specialized suppliers that will be less risky. However, the professor points out that, the goods and services provided by the franchise are more costly than the current market value. Furthermore, he argues that these franchise force owners to buy services and goods from their tied-up suppliers.

Secondly, the author mentions that franchises help individual businesses to advertise their business to attract potential customers. Again, the lecturer holds there are flaws in this argument. He suggests that 6% of the total income will be paid for franchises to get the publicity of our business is not worthy. Additionally, franchises don't advertise specifically our business they will do it for their brands.

Another reason the author feels that taking a franchise is more secure than starting a new business. The teacher rebuts this argument and states that instead of buying a new franchise one should buy an already developed business considering a security perspective. It will provide twice income than the income from the franchise business income.

To sum up, both author and the speaker hold conflicting views about opening a new business.
