Interpretations of the evidences in T. Rex bones

The article states that there is very little opportunity for scientists to examine actual animal tissues found in the fossils because they are largely replaced by minerals. However, in a recent study where scientist opened a leg bone of T. Rex, they found evidences of these tissues. The author interprets three of these evidences and relates them to the tissues but the professor does not agree with his statements and criticize each of these interpretations with his own.

First, the author relates small branching channels inside the bone to blood vessels. However, the professor claims that after death of an animal the bacteria colonize in the corpse and these channels my contribute to the trace of residue of these bacteria.

Second evidence discussed in the passage is about microscopic spheres found inside the bone which the reading relates it to the red blood cells due to the iron in them. But the professor states that other fossils' of prior animals have been found beforehand which also had these spheres. However, these animals did not have blood vessels in their body. Hence, this observations makes him to believe those are related to something else such as some reddish minerals.

Furthermore, the author claims that there was collagen on these bones according to the tests. However, the lecturer doubts this statement and claims that the collagen can last up to 100,000 years. Since, these bones are form 70 million years ago it contradicts all our knowledge about collagen. He believes that this material may belong to the hands of the researchers who were working in this study because collagen also can be found in the skin of the human too.
