Like many creatures humpback whales migrate long distances for feeding and mating purposes How animals manage to migrate long distances is often puzzling In the case of humpback whales we may have found the answer they may be navigating by the stars

The reading and the lecture are both about humpback whales that migrate to searching for food or mating. More specifically, in regard to the passage, the writer presents three theories about how these animals use stars to navigate their way when they are migrating. The lecturer disputes the claims made in the article. His position is that these evidences are not persuasive.

First and foremost, the author of the reading states these wheels are cleverness than the other animals. The article mentions that because of this intelligent they can manage their brain to use complex system for navigating and orientation. This argument is challenged by the lecturer. He calims that this is not smart feature because they did not use it to find stars, Also there are other animals like ducks how use this way for navigate, but the studies about them states they have an average intelligent. Additionally, he points out that there is no connection between navigate stars and smartness.

Secondly, the author suggests humpback whales transfer in connected lines, but they cannot do that if they don not have additional force to keep them in the right way. In the article it is said that because they are move in open ocean they can not depend on land characteristics, so they need to use stars. Again, the speaker specifically addresses this point when he states moving is straight lines have a different explanation for the wheels. He goes on to say that wheels have an ability in their minds to help them for orientation using earth magnatic fields.

Finally, the author brings his argument to a close by suggesting that wheels are doing some unusal activites like floating on the water and looking to the sky in a behavior called spy-hopping. Not surprisingly, the professor takes issue with this claim by contending that this action is rare for wheels, and there are many animlas do that like sharks, but sharks do that to find prey not for looking to the sky. He notes that wheels do spy-hopping in the day when there are no stars in the sky.
