Essay topics:

in many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. having a team of people attack a project offers several advantages.

The reading proposes that one of the best ways to a approach certain projects is to assemble a group of people in a team. The lectures however disagrees for the following reasons.
First, the reading claims that working in a team will allow certain individuals to shine and be recognized as highly significant. the lecture however challenged this by the example of this team that they checked up after 6 months, the individual contributions were recognized as the achievement of the whole team not just the individual. Consequently, the claim about individuals being recognized is not valid.
Second, the reading believes that working as a group means more people and more resources which allows for quicker response and more creative solutions. The lecture however opposes this by highlighting the fact that it took a lot of time to decide the best for the project. For example, when some members of the team offered an idea, but influencers think it will never work they dropped it.
Third, the reading mentioned the people of voice can work better in groups. However, according to the lecture when some members warned the group that their ideas are going in the wrong direction, they were just ignored.
Finally, the reading assumes that taking a decision as a group will not hold individuals in the group accountable if it goes wrong because it was taken as a group. The lecture refutes this and states that the group individuals took the blame when the project failed. The assumption for not holding the responsibility of a wrong decision is not well founded.
