Method acting

In an overview, in this speech and reading discussed arguments about method acting and benefits and problems of its also, reveal that how obtain actors this knowledge. Deliberately, the essential indications in the lecture cast doubt on the fundamental points in the reading.

First of all, the lecture states that it is not the actor's job to look for deeper meaning in the so_called "subtext". When a playwriter creates a roles and plot, she or he determines what the action of the story should be. However, this is contrasts the topic in reading that the asserts that actors must explore and use the subtext to convoy the complexity of inner feelings. Furthermore, about to delve to emotions and experiences, the lecture declares that it is unrealistic for actors to depend on their own feeling and experiences. Although, this is opposite with clues of the reading that clearly indicates the method acting actor must be realism and depth to a part with own previous knowledge.

Finally, the lecture explain that good acting requires skill training. Thus, good acting does not require an actor to "live the part". So all it takes a wide range of skills such as speech clarity, movements, body language, dance and so on. While this challenges the content in the text that believes the method acting has not technical form that can be practiced. Hence an actor should become a character and be immersed in the role.
