The passage lists the number of health benefits and cost benefits of consuming avocados with its internal composition. However, the man in the lecture disagrees with the claims stated by the passage. Let us look into those claims and understand why the man disagree with each of them in detail.
First reason that the passage states is avocados are helpful in decreasing the blood pressure. This is because avocados are rich in nutrients including phytonutrients and folic acid which are salubruious for lowering blood pressure. Although the man agrees with it, avocados do contain good fats of 29 grams which results in weight gain which directly influences the blood pressure. That is the reason why the man disagrees that avacados cannot decrease blood pressure.
Secondly, it is mentioned that they are good for pregnant women stating that it will reduce the miscarriage and neural tube defect during pregnancy. But the man does not encourage pregnant women to consume avocadas at all because it will reduce the milk production and memory gland of the pregnant women. Also, the baby stomach finds it taxing to digest the avocados since they are too sensitive.
Finally, consuming avocados saves a lot of money and it can replace meat for the vegetarians is what the passage suggests. The man says that it is completely not true since buying avocados is not cheap and people can buy more fruits with the same money used to buy avocados. Also, it is not an easy task to grow avocados as it requires galons of water compared to other crops which results in more wastage of natural resources.
In conclusion, the man provides concrete explanations why consuming avocados are not beneficial to us.
