Productivity and rewards

The reading passage explains the result of positive impact on the behavior of people who are rewarded for their work. The listening passage explains why the rewards are counter productive and various impact on the people who desire to be rewarded. There are several points that listening passage focuses on that cast doubts on the points listed in reading passage.

Firstly, the listening passage tells that people feel they must be respected more than being rewarded with the money or company stock. And if their is no improvement that may lead to counter productivity and it may affect the employers. The people who were being were interviewed about their views on the productivity and rewards felt that they wanted the enterprise to be more deferential instead of providing monetary benefits.

Secondly, rewards punish the growth of people as a whole as they feel they are being manipulated and they do not get enough respect. And it is more likely that if they desired for more valuable rewards it is certain that they would be more disappointed if they don't receive it.

Thirdly, it might happen that their could be damage in the relationship and that could conceal problem in such a way that if a employer have any problem with anything he won't ask his supervisor about it as he might feel that he may lose points and won't be rewarded.
