The reading passage mentions that professor appearances on television has good effects on universities, public and to the professor himself. However, lecture rebut it by highlighting its negative impacts. Therefore, lecturer contrasts with the reading passage.

Firstly, reading passage claims that appearance on television enhanced professor reputation, as many people can know about him. The speaker, however, posits that their fellow professor see him as a point of entertainer and does not include him in an important meeting, conference and so on. Moreover, he will not get money to do research.

Secondly, the author argues that it will benefit to universities. Because of the professor interview , reputation will enhance in turn more application from potential students and even more donations to universities. In contrast, speaker points out that because of the show, professor will be busy on preparing for himself, rehearsing, travelling and so on. He will not available in universities which hampers on student.

Thirdly, the author claims on public benefits due to professor interview on television. He mentions that professor will give details knowledge as an expert on certain subject. However, lecturer rebut it. He mentions that professor will just give information on academic titles, background information and brief on current issues, which can even provided by the television journalist.
