According to the reading passage the meerkat puts their life into danger for protecting the other meerkats without eating any food. However this example is totally refuted by the professor. According to recent study, which explain the actual behavior of the meerkat. In the lecture, professor says that, meerkat ate before going to guard their group.

Furthermore sentinel used their crying sound to save itself not for their group. Alarms sound makes alter to other meerkats,meanwhile sentinel escape it from danger because this sentinel activity puts the attention of the predator toward another meerkats.

The Professor also refuses that human show altruistic behavior by sharing food and donating body organ.Although the person donate their kidney to their relatives or a stranger without taking any money,person got the token of appreciation which is also valuable than money. So that's why professor also contracts this example.
