Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading passage.

The article and the lecture are both discussing about the possibility of powered flight in pterosaurs, a particular kind of living things in the age of dinosaurs. The reading claims that pterosaurs could not be flying by flapping their wings and gives three reasons to support. The professor dismisses all reasons by saying that recent investigations reveals that these animals could be capable of powered flight.

First of all, the article posits that pterosaurs like modern reptiles might be cold-blooded, so it means they did not have ability to flight. The professor makes a counterargument by referring to the new evidence of a line of hair covering like feather in fossils which leads to the notion that these animals were warm-blooded. In this way, pterosaurs could have enough energy to fly.

Secondly, the reading asserts that weight of these animals have prevented them to be capable of powered flight. The professor disputes this point scientifically by saying that looking at the anatomy of pterosaurs depicts that this animal were not as heavy as considered in the past. She adds more explanation by saying that some bones of pterosaurs were hollow instead of solid, so their weight were enough low to be capable to fly.

Lastly, the reading makes an argument that these animals did not have strong limbs to jump, and initiate the flight. The professor refutes this point by saying that unlike modern birds, pterosaurs were walking on four limbs. She completes her argument by saying that with four limbs there were enough energy to run faster, and jump for flying.
