Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading passage

The reading and lecture are both about the causes of diminishing of sea mammal called sea otter which are vital for coastal ecosystem. The author of the reading states that although there are probably two reasons for the declination of otter such as pollution or predation, it is suceptible to be seemed that pollution as a main factor behind the otter declination.
Firstly, the author begins by stating that chemical produced from industries are the foremost cause for environment degradation which has directly affect the number of sea otter and eventually the pollution has proved to be detrimental to their health. The professor believes there are flaws in the writer’s position. He contends that there has not been any evidence to prove the existence of dead otter in sea which means predator might have hunt the otter and eat instantly.
Secondly, according to the writing not only sea otter but also other sea mammals are affected by the pollution. Moreover, it is not the predation that hunt otter since they prefer to kill merely larger prey. The speaker on other hand points out that huge mammal such as whale are hunted by the human thus there are no option left for ocra. They change their diet and end up hunting small animal.
Finally, the reading passage notes that the uneven pattern might be the repercussion of environment pollution. This has caused otter pollution to mitigate to a great at certain location. The professor rebuts this argument. He puts forth the idea that pattern could be odd as hunting of ocra utterly depends on the accessible of the location. In addition, places where they can reach easily has otter population reduced vastly and on other since ocra cannot suffer shallow and dry location, the population remains the same.
As we can see, the author and lecturer holds conflicting veiws on the causes of otter declination. The writer effectively challenges the professor’s claim made in the article.
