In this set of material, the reading passage mentions three possible reasons for preventing the decreasing population of frogs. However, the lecturer, finds all the ideas complicate of very expensive to perform and provides some evidences to support.

First of all, the reading passage claimed that pesticides,which is widely use by farmers, can damage frogs and cause to extinctions. The reading suggest that governors should make some laws that limit and prohibit farmer from using dangerous pesticides, especially near place which contains large number of frogs. In contrast, the lecturer believes that it is really unfair and uneconomical to forbid farmers from using pesticides. She believed that preventing farmers from using pesticides cause farmers to loose most of their crops and this is a disadvantage which makes their products more expensive or reduces their net income. Thus, this solutions is rejected by the lecturer.

Second of all, the reading claimed that fungus is major factor in declination of frog's population. If we able to fight against it, it would be effective in frog's population growth. So, the reading suggests that use the latest method to treat or prevent infection which includes kill fungus with high temperature or anti-fungal treatment. On the contrary, the lecturer gave some explanation which indicated that this methods are totally impractical. She said that each frog should be individually receive the treatment; which means all of the frogs should be capture and receive medications, that is very hard to implement. Furthermore, as these treatments do not pass from parents to children genetically, this cycle of treatment should be repeat in every generation of frogs. Therefore, as the recommendations which provided by reading is not practical, it is refused by the lecturer.

Finally, the reading stated that frogs are loosing their population because their habitats are disappear or in endangered by human activities. So, if humans protect wetlands such as lakes, marshes and rivers from excessive water use for irrigation, industrial or hygiene purposes, we can save frog species from extinction. Conversely, the lecturer contends that draining wetlands is rooted in global warming not excessive use of humans. Although she believe that the idea of preserving lakes and marshes from disappearing, we should look it through a more broader perspective and try to solve global warming primarily. If we succeed in solving global warming, we can save wetland and consequently, frog too.
