tidal power- integrated task

The passage presents the concept of tidal power usage in order to generate electricity. Although the technique is described as harmless for the environment, the lecturer was still able to pick out several possible shortcomings.
First of all, the speaker mentions that such an approach wouldn’t be able to provide sufficient amount of energy itself. Since tidal facilities are highly dependable on the location it is mounted, the amount of installed pieces would be able to satisfy only small nearest locations with the electricity.
Secondly, the lecturer mentions that, even though tidal power usage doesn’t imply any gases exhausting it may still cause harm to the environment. Among the possible drawbacks the speaker indicates water quality change and wild life style alteration which may even lead to extinction of some species. The lecturer illustrates her point of view with several examples. First of which, is increased amount of mud, sediments and salt in the water, which may affect the inhabitants of the water. Furthermore, mounting of some kind of dumb will isolate fish from being able to cross it during the migration seasons. Let alone the exposure on the local economy. To support that argument, the orator cites inability of fishermen to navigate between estuary and open sea.
