TOEFL integrated writing: communal online encyclopedia

In this set of materials, the reading passage says that online encyclopedias have a lot of issues that make them without value compared with the printed encyclopedias and it provides 3 reasons to support this. On the other hand, even though online encyclopedias are far away to be perfect, some small errors can be acceptable and, in fact, they are better than traditional books. She refutes each reason on the passage.
First of all, the passage states that because of the absence of academic credentials the information there is inaccurate. On the other hand, the professor says that all encyclopedias, online and offline, both have problems with errors but online books are easier to correct and the printed are not. As a result, if you bought an encyclopedia with some mistake you lost your money.
Second, the writer claims that online products may receive attacks from hackers. The Lecturer says that nowadays this is simple to correct, actually it is easy to avoid because there are written in some formats that nobody can change. In addition there are some editors that can eliminate the malicious changes on the original text.
Third, the reading passage says that online material creates a false impression that what is neither important and educational became to be this. The professor says that books have a limited space and the writers decide what is going to be there and this limits the information and the variety of subject. On the other hand, online encyclopedias have unlimited space and this creates great options about the subject, in fact, this is one of the strong things on online encyclopedias.
