In this set of materials the reading describes about the advantage of working four days a week, and changes that it could provides to employees, in contrast with it, the listening discusses about this new policy which represent a significantly risk to company and employees.

In the reading passage is mentioned many employees want to work four days a week, in spite of receive less salary. A lot of companies are agreeing with this new policy. This changes in the working hours could bring benefits not only for workers, even the companies could be improved their profits. The reason is, the employees would make fewer costly errors in their work. Not only the companies will receive benefits, furthermore the country could reduce the unemployment rates because new workers will cover the hours of the others employees who will be working only four days a week. Finally, this policy of four days workweek will be the best decision for the employees in exchange for extra time free. They may enjoy passing time with their family; in conclusion this will provide a best quality of life.

Contrary to the belief in the reading passage, the lecture refutes the fact that this will benefit to the company or even the employees. First, the four-day workweek, could affect the company economy just because they will expend more due to adding new workers, new workers will need training, the company will spend in medical benefits to the extra workers, in addition, the company require more computers and more equipment for the new people. Second, reduce the schedule won't improve the quality of life owing the employees will lost their job stability. For example: the company director will show preference by worker who chose five days a week, this kind of people will make the same work than the four days worker, it could represent decremented of work stability. In the other hand, people who works more day a week will be chosen to ascend, will take advance in his carrier in contrast with the other one. This finally represent a significantly risk to company and employees.
