Both the lecture and the reading discuss a method to approach and solve a new project, such as working in a group. At this point, the article states that there are plenty of benefits when people join a team-work and provides three reasons support. However, the lecture explains that it always exists many problems and disadvantages and casts doubt on each of the author’s reasons.
First, the lecture presents the negative side of teamwork as waste time because of too many meetings, refutes the reading’s general claim that processing of project will move quickly when it is solved by a group. In this case, the professor mentions that people have to spend more time to decide how to solve a problem that increases the total time of that project.
Second, the professor says that people who contributed most efforts to a successful project will not be named. This confronts the reading’s claim that participating in a group brings opportunities for member to be rewarded. In fact, the professor asserts that there are some people who do not do any effective things will also receive the same rewarding.
Third, the lecture challenges the reading’s claim that influential people will make a better decision than a personal ideal. At this point, the professor mentions that influential member maybe impacts directly on a highly potential idea of other’s members by ignoring them when they contribute an opinion about that one-way decision. It will make the whole job break down.
