The reading and the lecture are both about group projects, and how they can be good and bad. The author of the reading believes that group projects are good. The lecturer casts doubts made on the claims in the article. He thinks that team projects can make the projects harder.
First of all, the author points out that the group would have more knowledge. It is mentioned that the more people there are, the more thoughts there would be. This point is challenged by the lecturer. He says that the groups may have more knowledge, but they might not work well together. Furthermore, he argues that the groups would argue about whose ideas are better.
Secondly the author contends that the group members would feel very good about themselves. The article notes that the people who make the decisions would feel very good. The lecturer rebuts this argument. He states that although the person might feel good, there are people who did not participate at all. She elaborates on this by mentioning that the people who did not participate would feel good too, because they did not do anything, but got a good score.
Finally the author elaborates this by mentioning that the score would be overall better. The article states that you would have more people, who may be smart, eventually leading to a good score. The lecturer on the other hand says that the scores may not satisfy others. He puts forth the idea, by stating that some people may not feel good, because they did most of the work meanwhile some did nothing.
