The reading talks about chevalier's past experiences which he confronted to them. He wrote a long memoir recounting his life. however, some critics casts doubts on claim made by Chevalier in his memoir. They mentioned that chevalier's life was more critical than it really was. The speaker, on the other hand challenged all points mentioned in the article.
First of all, the reading states Chevalier wrote in his memoir he was wealthy. Moreover, critics claims that he was not wealthy because he borrowed money. However, the professor refuse this he mentioned that Chevalier arranged many properties. He argues Chevalier sells out his all properties and he waited for his money.
Second, the reading mentions that Chevalier recorded the conversation precisely which occurred between him and Voltaire. Critics also complains that it is impossible to remained the exact phrases which accustomed between them because the memoir was written after few years. on contrary, the lecturer claims that Chevalier's journal pinpoint the accuracy of conversion which wrote on the same year. Furthermore, he was able to remember the talks which happened between them.
Finally, the article suggests that Chevalier escaped from jail by used a piece of metal makes hole on ceiling than claiming on roof. Critics again appealing that Chevalier was in contact with many people and has a lot friends through them he got freedom. however, the incinerator says that he was a powerful man. He puts forth that after he escaped the ceiling and floor repair again.
