Reading talks about genetic modification. Which is a process used to change an organism's genetics and hence their characteristics. To improve trees production, farmer begin to modify tress genetically. However, lecturer made claims on all mentioned advantages of genetic modification in the reading passage.
First of all, author of the reading suggests that, genetic modify trees are much hardier as compare to other natural trees. For example, in Hawaii city papayas is a species of tree which are most resistant to virus while, farmers get modify them genetically. On contrary, the lecturer refuse that, modify trees are much better hardier .She argues that, it is right that genetic modification increase the ability of trees to be more resistance against virus but, if climate have begin to change the trees would not survive their self. And virus would stay remain to distract the trees.
Second, writer mentions that, genetic modification bring huge economic benefits for those who grow them because, once trees go thorough genetic modification process they will grow fast and, will produce enormous foods and fruit. On the other hand, professor claims that, farmer will be benefited economic when trees became modified. Furthermore, she said that, seeds of trees are less capable to grow fast as fast due to climatic changes so, each modify trees required three farmers until they could handle them. So, they are supposed to pay extra money to farmers for seeding.
Finally, reading states that, genetic modify trees will reduce the exploitation for other wild trees in nature. Due to requirements of people about consumption of firewood are high, people can prefer to make genetic modification process wider in order to fulfill their requirements. However, speaker said that, when modification process begin to start, trees would grow aggressively and would be hard to prevent wild trees due to actively damage them. He puts forth that, trees by modification process grows after a long time. And the wild trees consumption will increase by people.
