The passage is mainly about ethanol fuel which is made from corn ans sugar plants instead of gasoline.Writer has mentioned many disadvantages of ethanol fuel which is being used by many people in United States as a alternative to gasoline.But speaker has contradicted many points as compared to the lecture.
First,writer has mentioned that due to the production ethanol fuel carbon dioxide is being released which causes global warming and trap head.But speaker contradicted the point as ethanol fuel does not cause global warming but it helps to remove carbon dioxide from the environment.
Second,ethanol fuel will reduce the amount of plants available for use of other fuel and 60% corn if used to produce ethanol cause animals disappear as per the passage but speaker says that ethanol can be produced through the plant cellaeous which is not eaten by animals.This is another point where we can experience contradicted theory.
Third,ethanol will never able to compete with gasoline in price.If this gas is not given to produce its price will be more than gasoline but speaker argues that when there is more production of ethanol then its price will reduce then gasoline.This contradicted the passage directly.
