TPO 28- integrated writing - Peary's trip to the North Pole

The set out related to Robert E. Peary which concerns him reaching the North Pole is the main debate of this passage and lecture. In the passage, three reasons are mentioned supporting Robert's claim which are argued by the lecturer.

Firstly, the declaration of the National Geographic Society committee is taken into acounte. Writer supports the committee's decision and believes that it is a solid evidence. However, the lecturer states that some friends of Robert found that committee and as a result their decision may have been biased.

Second reason relates to the duration of Robert's trip. Although, the travel's short duration cast doubts toward him, the passage supports his claim by comparing him some other explorer who had reached the same record. Lecturer, on the other hand, disagrees and believes that the conditions of the two explorer were not equal, so it may not be the best evidence.

And finally, in the passage it is mentioned that Robert's photographs are kept as an indicater that he actually had reached the North Pole and the writer agrees with that while the lecturer refuted this reason. In the lecture it is mentioned that Robert's camera, with which he had taken photos, are pretty old and based on the blurry and fade photos of it, there can not be any exact conclusion drive toward the location.
