TPO 47: integrated writing

The article provides three reasons against powered flight of Pterosaurs which were an ancient group of winged reptiles. However, the professor explains that new investigations show the capability of powered flight of Pterosaurs and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading states that Pterosaurs were probably cold-blooded and because of that they were unable to produce required energy to fly. Conversely, the professor refutes this point by stating that new researches indicated that they were warm blood and had high body temperature which indicates they were able to generate energy needed to fly.
Furthermore, the article claims that Pterosaurs were too heavy that they would not have been able to fly. On the contrary, the professor contends that although they were large, their weight was comfortable for flying. She explains that the bones of these reptiles was hollow which leads to low weight of them.
Finally, the reading passage holds the view that their back legs were not powerful enough to run fast of jump high to launch into air. However, the professor casts doubt over this view and contends that Pterosaurs even though their hind legs were weak, they were using all four legs to jump and run. So, they had enough power ti launch themselves into air.
