The reading states that humpback whales use stars as navigation to migrate. However, the professor refutes this point by providing three reasons of supports.

First, the article states that humpback whales use their intelligence to make conection with star for fingding their ways. The lecturer refute this points. He states that other animals like ducks can migrate by the use of stars. Even though that the intelegency of the ducks is not as the same as whales. The professor also mentions that ducks have only common intelligence and named it as instict. So, there is not any connection between intelligence and star navigation.

Second, the reading states that humpback whales use straight line for migration. However, the professor contends this point. He avers that the ability of moving through straight line does not have any connection to star navigation. The ability is a cause of bio-magnetic in which helps animals to use earth magnetic field to follow an straight line.

Finally, the article claims that abnormal behavior in humpback whales strengthen the idea of using star navigation for migration. Nonetheless, the professor casts doubt on this issue by providing an example of sharks. He mentions that sharks may also exhibit such a behavior but neither the cause of this behavior is in migration nor in star navigation. At the end of the lecture, the professor mentions that this kind of hypothesis is only pure speculation and can not be trusted.
