TPO 7 integrated: receiving the eco-certification in wood companies of United States

The main idea of both the passage and the talk is about whether encouraging wood companies in America to produce eco-certified products or not. These action provide numerous disadvantages for them. The lecturer challenges all the viable defects that mentioned in the reading. He is of the opinion that none of these reasons is not reasonable.

Firstly, the reading sates that American consumers do not trust to the advertising that companies provide for their products. Therefore, they do not understand and distinguish among certified and not certified products. The lecturer, on the other hand, believes that a plethora of American consumers have been seeking for eco-certified products. Furthermore, he mentions that although they pay attention to the type of companies, they trust to companies that are not independent and American agency support them.

In addition, the reading brings the idea that the products price are very critical for consumers, and they strive to buy uncertified products because these stuffs are very cheaper than other. The speaker, conversely, sates that although price is very significant factor for choosing products, there are many other factors that people consider when they want to buy products. Furthermore, he believes that because the eco-certified products’ price are not very much than uncertified one, so people contemplate other factors rather than price.

Eventually, the author of the reading mentions that American companies would not make a relationship with other companies that are abroad. On the other hand, the speaker holds the view that if American companies provide eco-certified products and there products export to other countries, the well-known international companies will be motivated to have businesses with these companies. Thus, these companies would enhance their profits and reputation all over the world.
