Travelling to other countries is a way for people to take time away from their daily worries. While visiting a foreign country, some people like to go to the tourist attractions while others prefer going to quiet places where they can truly enjoy the country’s culture.
Many people consider travelling as a way to take a break from everyday burdens. For some, the goal of traveling is to look at famous monuments and mark them off their bucket lists. For others, traveling is much more intimate, as it is a way for them to heal and experience the real culture of a particular place. I consider travelling as a perfect way for relaxation and I prefer to visit quiet places rather than those which are popular among tourists. I feel this way for two reasons.
Firstly, quiet places allow freely exploring the foreign culture. In such a calm manner I can experience country culture at my own pace. I mostly go abroad with my family to take a rest from the daily routine and replenish my mind and body during the trip. However, visiting tourist attractions always puts me under the stress of trying to experience as much as possible. This way it becomes a race for experience and under such conditions, the travel feels no other way than exhausting. For example, when I was in Spain, I and my family scheduled some tours across the country. But when we actually were on the tours we had to constantly think about the time we have left before we ride away. But when we visited Turkey, there was no such haste and every one of us enjoyed the visit because they could do everything they could. By travelling we do not intend to visit particular places, so every time we consider a new trip, we value freedom and quality over experience.
Secondly, travelling to such quiet places has healing properties. Such ambience soothes the body and soul and all the worries are replaced by inner peace. and when we return to our daily routine we fell refreshed. That contrast between a rush of everyday life and peaceful atmosphere brings long-awaited relief. For example, when we visited Karlovy-Vary in the Czech Republic, there were no attractions but mineral water sources placed throughout the city. Every day we happened to go across the city, sipping mineral water from special cups and filling them over and over. This was truly enjoying, despite there was no particular destination or any outstanding attractions. A contrast between a rush of everyday life and peaceful atmosphere brings long-awaited relief.
All in all, I think travelling is intended to release all the stress bottled up due to daily concerns. The best way to do so is to visit quiet places where you can truly enjoy the change in the ambience at your own pace.
