Experimenter effect is defined as inaccurate results of an experiment affected by a researcher’s expectation. The professor explains the research in which the researcher was to train two groups of monkeys to pick up a ball and put it in the box. The researcher thought that a group of the monkeys are highly intelligent but the other ones are less intelligent but indeed there was no difference between two groups of monkeys. Based on the researcher’s supposition, he thought that training to the first group is easier and results indicated that training to first group took two hours less than the second group. This happened because the researcher encouraged, communicated, smiled, and talked to the supposedly intelligent group. However, he was not optimistic and enthusiastic to the second group.
