The bar chart below shows the highest qualification attained by sex for the working age population in Wales in 2001/2002. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart provides information about highest qualifications for both genders. The data is represented for working age population between 2001 and 2002.
Let’s divide our chart into three: degree and higher education, GCE A level and GCSE grade A-C, and other and no qualifications groups.
Apparently, the figures for degree and higher education qualifications for both genders were slightly similar. Approximately 12% for former and 8% for latter. The proportion for both male and female in the second group was markedly different. While 28% of males got GCE A level qualification, this was twice less for females. The figures for females who got GCSE grade A-C qualification were reversed. The percentage of those who got other qualifications, was 12% for both males and females, which is almost 8% less than the amount of males who got no qualification. This quantity for females was 23%.
To conclude, it’s surprising that males got more high qualifications, while females got mostly GCSE A-C grade. This ends my report.
