You have lost an item of value on train.
Write a letter to the railway company. In your letter•
1-Describe the item•
2-Explain where and when you left it•
3-Say what action you would like the company to take
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to report a lost item on the train while I was on my way back to home from my weekly vacation.
The item is a wristwatch which I inherited from my grandfather. When I was gifted the watch, I was told to keep it as a memorial item from my father`s family. Besides to its memorial value, both the watch strap and the face are made from gold, and it is worth a considerable amount of money. It has also a sentimental value to me.
I can only assume that I must have left the watch on the top of the hand rack in front of the chair No. 18 D in the second car after the locomotive where I was sitting. It was either covered by the newspaper or had been fallen off on the ground after my arrival on platform No. at 11 PM.
I have read the travel policy on the ticket, and it states that all lost items should be kept with the customer service department either at departure or arrival station. Therefore, I would request if you could check out with the customer service department and help me find out the watch. I do appreciate your assistance on same.
I look forward to receiving your positive reply.
Yours faithfully,
Ayoub
