According to most doctors, adults need 30 minutes of physical activity at least five days a week to be
healthy. However, most adults do not get this recommended amount of exercise. What can be done to
help people get the exercise they need? Give examples to support your answer.
In world now-a-days, with advent of modern technology, human effort is completely reduced. However, that comes on cost of affecting human being's health. With removal of physical activity in humans, they end up acquiring unhealthy lifestyle. In order for restoring physical activity in people and achieving daily target of 30 minutes, they themselves or their workplace can play a major role.
To begin with, we can throw some light on invention of smart watches. They are primarily built to maintain fitness in people. Smart watches can help track heart rate, number of steps walked and amount of time that person has remained active throughout the day. Every individual during whole day spend some time in works that require some physical strength. In that case, smart watch can be the best device to track that active time. I have experienced such case in my personal life. My daily active time target is 1 hour. During my whole day at office, i take stairs to go up and down and that counts in my physical activity time. Therefore, when i reach home, i go for a walk for remaining time to achieve my day's goal. Hence, a small gadget can motivate a person to achieve daily activity targets.
Secondly, workplaces themselves can be helpful for keeping their employees healthy. This can be achieved by establishing a recreational center for employees that include games like table tennis. Every employee during their lunch break can go to that recreational center and play table tennis for half an hour to keep themselves healthy. However, there come problems of motivation and interest. In order for motivating employees to play table tennis, the workplace can organize monthly tournaments with some prizes/bonuses. Undoubtedly, these rewards would eventually benefit organization itself because a healthy person is always more efficient than unhealthy. Therefore, it is justified that organizations themselves can help people to restore their physical activity.
Finally, there is another category of people who are running their own shops-say superstores. Considering their business timings they would not get enough time for their health. However, a simple switch in their duties can maintain their health. That is, for 30 minutes a day, the owner should switch his duty with someone who arranges items in shelves. With this simple switch, the owner himself can take enough physical activity to keep himself healthy.
In conclusion, we see that restoration of physical activity among humans is primarily based on their motivation. For such motivation people themselves or their organizations have to play their role.
