In the democratic country, Voting is the pivotal right for an individual. It gives the freedom to choose the candidate of your choice. But, to make it compulsory is the violation of the democracy. While there are a number of people argue that it is one of the civic duties like paying tax. I personally feel that voting should not be compulsory. In subsequent paragraphs, I will discuss both sides of the arguments.
To begin with the democracy, democracy teaches us that every person in the country has the same right. Individuals have the freedom to do whatever they want to do if it is legal; So that, why should voting be compulsory. It is clearly a violation of the human rights. There is no point, to make it necessary because in present world people enough aware of human rights, rather, the government can do one thing that they can focus on spreading awareness regarding voting.
On the flip side, some people and organisations think that it should be compulsory as they consider voting is the civic duties like paying tax; Also, they claim that it can aware the people about voting rapidly as people learn compulsory thing so fast. People would follow it and definitely will go for voting otherwise the government will take action against them.
In the nutshell, the foregoing discussion propounds the view that it should not be compulsory. Nevertheless, if the government makes voting compulsory, then there is no meaning of democracy. They can spread awareness in another way as well.
