Should the parents give their child money to encourage them?
We all know that there is a so-called encouragement machnism, which means if you anticipate someone taking actions as you want, you can give him or her some encouragement to attract him or her to do so. Based on the understanding of this principle, many parents apply this to their child. It is quiet common to see some parents use money as a sort of encouragement to push their children to study. However, from my point of view, I disagree with this kind of educational method.
It is possible that the child would be shaped to become a money oriented person. When it comes to the homework, the purpose should be accomplishing the whole assignment effiviently and correctly so that they can mater the knowledge. But some parents incline to use the money as a reward when their children is not willing to get their homework done. There is no boubt that the child would be motivated to deal with their homework for the money's sake, again and again, their purpuse of accomplishing the homeworke become making the money, which gives them opputunity to buy sweet candies and new toys, rather than gain the knowledge. What is more, It is no difficult for us to imagine that they can rarely be motivated to do homework without money, since they have got used to the money encouraged mechanism. Even worse, the child may me mislead to worship the money and probably become a money oriented person.
In addition, positive is the best way to gain the knowledge with high efficiency, which the money encouraged children are unable to dream of. Actually, those children who are pushed by the money act passively even though they focus on their work, for they lack the inner power. For instance, the desire of the new lore, or the enthusiasum to success. Without those inner power, hardly can they overcome the difficulties along the road. However, in the case of the positive children, definitely, they have larger possibility to achieve their goal with the strong inner power, hence they would certainly insist on their target no matter what difficluties they confront. For example, every time when they find out some thing they are uncapable to understand it entirely, they would try their best to search for a tutor to ask for the solution. All in all, the positive attitude is the best leader but not the money.
In conclusion, the parents should use an appropriate method to teach their child. For those who use the money as a reward, I sincerely suggest them to find better mothods, for instance, they can help their child set a proeminent example, who can not only tell their child the importance of study but also give their child some guidance.
