TASK 4: BEHAVIOR CHAINING

ARTICLE: Human behavior consists of a serial of simple behavior. There is a method of education called behavior chaining. Sometimes when people teach children, they would break down a complex activity into several steps. These steps are easier for children to handle and understand.
LECTURE: Ok, here is an example. Recently, I wanted to teach my three-years old daughter how to wash her hands. So I separated the event of washing hands into five individual steps:
1. Turn on the tap water.
2. Wet the hands.
3. Put some soap.
4. Rinse hands.
5. Turn off the tap water.
I taught my daughter step by step, and until she was able to do all the steps, we assembled these steps, and finally she could wash her hands by herself.
