TPO-02 - Integrated Writing Task In many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. Having a team of people attack a project offers several advantages. First of all, a group of people

The reading and the lecture are both about the pros and cons of team work in managing a project. The author of the passage believes that when a team works on a project they work more efficiently since they were a lot of people contributing. However, the lecturer casts doubt on the claims by asserting that a research done within a company did prove that not all members were working for the teams success and the individual who did the most was not recognized.

Firstly, the author of the passage contends that when a team works on the project the work more efficiently and quickly. As a result, they come up with more creative ideas and solutions. The lecturer challenges this statement. He states this by explaining with an study conducted by a company where they provided a project work to a group of team members. The findings after six months revealed that some project did not move quickly and took a long time to make a plan.

Secondly, the author contends that involving in a group work can be rewarding to the individual team member. The author further adds that the ideas of a single member was highly significant and recognized giving him more impact than working alone. The lecturer rebut this by arguing that the study in a company conducted revealed that some people who became the influences of ideas where ignored and not recognized due to fear of failure .This eventually made that person difficult to shine in a group.
