The line graph below reveals the percentage of the people who were unemployed in the US and Japan during the years 1993 and 1999. According to the data given by the graph, it can be clearly seen that the unemployment rates were higher in the USA than Japan over this span of 6 years.
In March 1993 only 2.5% of the work force were out of work in Japan, while this figure was 7% in the USA. However despite some fluctuations the proportion of the jobless people in the US fell down steadily and reached just over 5% in March 1998.
