Overall, the expenditure on energy in water heating and heating in an australian household on average are the largest proportions. However, the emission of greenhouse gas of water heating and other appliances account for the largest percentages.

The largest household energy used in a family on average in Australia in heating and water heating are 42% and 30% respectively. By contrast, the percentage of energy used in cooling is lowest, just only 2% of the total energy consumed. the remaining parts of energy, other appliances holds 15% whereas refrigeration and lighting contribute 7% and 4%, accordingly.

water heating and other appliances are the two main reasons for greenhouse gas emissions in an average australian household with 32% and 28%, respectively. The emission of greenhouse gas released by heating and refrigeration are similar, which account for 15% and 14%, accordingly.
