The pie chart give information about the amount of energy used from 5 different sources in Germany and New Zealand between 1980 and 2010.

Overall, the total amount of energy generated in both nations increased over the period of 30 years. In addition, the electricity generation from nuclear source was only used in Germany.

Germany was seen an increase by 73 units in the total amount of energy while the figure for New Zealand was 107 units in total

In New Zealand, the largest amount of energy was represented by Coal with 56 units, followed by Hydro with 30% in 1980. there was an significant increase in the amount of electricity generation by Coal to 150 units in 2010 while the figure for Hydro source increased slightly by 16 units. By contrast, from 1980 to 2010, Petroleum and Natural gas source were seen dramatic decreases in the amount of energy generation, by 9 units and 28 units respectively.

In Germany, the amount of energy came from Coal and Natural gas were equal in 1958 with 28 units. Petroleum source and Nuclear source generated the same the amount of electricity, at 22 units and 20 units accordingly while those for Hydro source was just 7 units. In 2010, German saw a significant surge in the amount of energy produced from Nuclear source, by 135 units which was much higher than the remaining categories, compared to 28 units of Coal, 27 units of Petroleum and only total 4 units for Natural gas and Hydro source.
