Dear …,

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to a job advertisement for the position of Senior Software Architect, posted by your company, in the "Job Hunt" column of a local tabloid. I would like to apply for this role as my qualification and work experience makes me a suitable candidate.

My name is Ashfaq Memon. I am an Indian national, who has been working in Singapore for last six years. I have completed Master of Science in Computer Engineering from National University of Singapore, and Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Gujarat University, India. I have a beautiful family in Singapore, including my wife and a 2-year old son.

Under my belt is 6 years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining complex software systems for different disciplines including medical devices, printers and industrial automation. I am currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Schneider Electric, where I am part of a team which is responsible for complete Product Design Life Cycle (PDLC) of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). I also lead a small team of software engineers to assign them technical tasks and take regular updates.

I follow your company on LinkedIn where I get regular updates about your new products and current openings. I am particularly intrigued by a news that your organization is going to design a state-of-the-art software for completely automated vehicle. I got excited when I saw this advertisement that your company is looking for enthusiastic engineers to work on this project.

Please spare some of your precious time to look into my resume which I have attached with this letter. I am open for a formal interview to further discuss my candidacy.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,
Ashfaq Memon
