The author of the passage states that to serve the housing needs of our students, Buckingham College should build a number of new dormitories. Buckingham's enrollment is growing and will get double over next 50 years, thus the existing dormitory space inadequate. Also the average rent of appartment has risen as a result student fill find difficult to afford off campus housing. So, finally concluding that new dormitories would make prospective students more likely to enroll at Buckigham, However there are major gaps in this passage.

Firstly, the author has mentioned that Buckingham's enrollment is growing and, based on current trends, will double over the next 50 years. Here author falls short of the data which shows that the enrollments will get double over the next 50 years. So, without a specific data author cant come to a strong conclusion. Because, there can be many reasons which has led to current growing enrollments maybe there is not any good college in the nearby area so people might be choosing Buckigham college. There is a possibility that in the coming 5 or 10 years there might be development of varoius new colleges of the same or higher educational level as that of Buckigham college which may not prove authors conclusion as true over the next 50 years.

In addition to this, Author is concerned to increase housing facility for students over the next 50 years. But the question here is, Firstly the college has sufficient capacity to take double enrollments over the next 50 years? Is there adequate space or staff for the same? If not so first priority is to think of increasing the staff or getting sufficient space for the college. Because if this cant be done the building a number of new dormitories whould not help out in anyway.

Thirdly the author of the passaage has concluded that attractive new dormitories would make prospective students more likely to enroll at Buckingham. There is nothing to do with attravtive dormitories because the students who are actually prospective they will anyhow manage to live in a simple and sweet dormitories with all the basic requirements. Also, the attractive dormitories would not be the reason that students are more likely to enroll. Any students primary perspective would be how the college is , how good the quality of education is served in the college. And also there is no specific data which clarifies that attractive dormitories can be the reason to that students are more likely to enroll in the Buckigham college.

In summary, the author should have provided the data about the why there is increase in the enrollments in the current trends, and if the college is capable of managing double enrollments, also the data that shows there will be increase in the enrollments with the building of attractive new dormitories. But in the absence of these the arguments falls short.
