Different people have different ambitions and expectations concerning their life. What for one person will be fulfilling his dreams, for the other could be piece of cake. While one consider rising a wonderful family a success, the other will perceive his success as being extremely wealthy. Therefore, true success can primarily be measured in terms of goals one sets for oneself.
At first, setting one's goals is crucial in personal development. Throughout the history, however, many individuals achieved success accidentally. Teflon, microwave and penicillin, among others, were discovered without being planned. Many of us wonder how our life would be without these accidental discoveries. Although authors of this inventions surely got wealthy, did they considered themselves successful? Maybe some of them are still looking for answers to questions they set as their goals?
Secondly, one can surely name himself successful, when the goals he set are accomplished. But will others consider him successful? A woman rising five wonderful kids will consider herself as being successful mother, but CEO of a big corporation will consider her a looser. For him, this particular achievement will not be a favorable outcome. Thus, true success in live cannot be universal for all individuals.
To recapitulate, although there are different views for achieving true success, life, family, health and wealth are the attributes of contemporary successful man. All of them , simultaneously, are very unlikely to be accomplished. Individual who sets his personal goals, will still be satisfied by achieving them. Although we think of others as successful, they may still strive to achieve their happiness. After weighing all the evidence, true success can be measured only in terms of goals one sets for oneself.
