Some people believe that competition for high grades motivates students to excel in the classroom. Others believe that such competition seriously limits the quality of real learning.Write a response in which you discuss which view

Competition is indeed important for an individual's progress , by competing with his peers a person can know their own potential. It gives you means to gauge yourself in comparison to others. But solely relying on competition is rather egregious , because the true purpose of education is learning and putting to use what one has learned for the betterment of the society. By solely focusing on competition to score better grades , on e loses track of the bigger picture and that is to use what one has learnt.
For ex , why a lot of colleges require their applicant to submit their statement of purpose along with their marks is to gauge how that applicant has put what he/she has learnt into practical usage. Competing at school level will translate to competition at office-level at some point , where one will aim to bag a better paying job or drive a better car, while there is nothing wrong in thus way of life but it is rather parochial.
While grades were and still used as a means used by colleges and companies for selecting prospective students , such orthodox methods have been changing lately. Now a days , technology companies offer jobs to students who demonstrate how adroit they are at in their coding skills and willing to overlook their academic grades. This says a lot about how the industry has sghifterd their preception of learning from academics certificates and grades to real life skills .
