I know some adequate place to accommodate. Where you can have a range of rooms and English speaking staff. Most of them are located around a natural atmosphere where you obtain an uninterrupted view of the river and mountains. In addition, it close to cafes, banks, supermarkets, and restaurants.
I recommend you to rent a vehicle, as many famous landmarks are situated out of the city and public transport may waste your time. There is a long list of places to visit but I think you should visit the Panjim, where you see a historical church, cashew farm, art gallery, museum, and waterfall. In the evening, you can enjoy a candlelight dinner at the beach.
You should bring a swimming costume, beach bag, flip fop, sunglasses, and lightweight clothes, as there are many beaches where you can enjoy jet skiing and scuba diving.
