The given pie chart details the proportion of different food items consumed at global levels in the year 2014. The various listed food items are vegetables, fruits, rice, meat, fish, cereals, and bread.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the non-vegetarian food led the whole distribution, followed next by cereals. Vegetables and fruits were consumed at an almost similar proportional rate. Although bread and rice were also in the consumption list, the intake rate of both the items came out to be the least.
According to the given illustration, about 31.2%, which constitutes nearly one-third of the total distribution, was meat intake. Fish ranked the second most favorite meal with 27.9% at the consumption scale. Despite being one-third of the meat consumption, cereals earned 11.2% share of the world food consumption.
On the other hand, under the vegetarian section, fruits and vegetables accounted for 10.6%, and 10.5% respectively, which stood to be almost the same at the percentage levels. While, rice and bread made up the lowest proportional share, as the former fell below half as compared to the latter(5.5%).
