The given bar chart shows the statistics data about the percentage of world population living in six urban areas in three different years, 1950, 2007 and 2030. In general, the highest percentage of population were in North America and the lowest percentage of population were in Africa in three different years.

It can be seen that, a higher percentage of people lived in North America which was 64% of world population, and it increased in 2007, calculated 79%. It is expected to rise in 87% by 2030. Nearly, same percentage of people lived in Latin America in 2007, where in 1950 their population was half of the total world population, 42% counted. According to the chart, in Africa, population was much lower than other parts of the world. In 1950, lowest percentage of world population lived in African cities which was calculated only 15%, then, it increased more than higher to 37% in 2007, and, it is expected to rise in 57% by 2030. Nearly, as many people lived in Asian cities as African in 1950.

In 2030, the world population in urban areas projected to increase in six parts of the world.
