Given is the bar chart delineating the adjustment in the rate of city dwellers in six distinct regions in the world for the course of 27 years, commencing from 1950 and giving a projection for the year 2050.
Perceptibly, there seems to be a soaring trend in the percentage of city population shared by all surveyed areas. Furthermore, North American residing in cities are likely higher in the percentage than the others over the shown years.
In the first year of the phase, the percentage of citiers in North America accounted for the largest part with 64%, followed by Oceania with 62%, meanwhile, Europe and Latin America/ Caribbean reported 51% and 42% respectively. By contrast, Africa had the lowest rate with 15% which was even 2% smaller than that of Asia. The next 27 years brought a considerable leap in the proportion of people settling down in urban areas in all six parts of the world. North America still ranked first with 79% while Latin America/ Caribbean and Europe surpassed Oceania to stayed in the second and third with 76%, 72% and 71% in turn. Likewise, Asian and African people were inclined to move to cities more than in the past with 41% and 37% recorded.
The year 2050 is expected to witness a drastic surge in the rate of city population of six aforementioned places. To be specific, a 1 percent disparity is predicted between North America's urban population with 90% and Latin America/ Caribbean with 89%. In the interim, Europe seems to experience a 12 percent escalation in its percentage compared to the last 27 years', alongside 76% is anticipated to record in Oceania in the future. Despite an expected strong accretion, Asia and Africa will still comprise the smallest part with 66% for the former and 62% for the latter.
