The bar chart below show British emigration from 2004 to 2007
The bar chart illustrates the countries British people moved to live in from 2004 to 2007. At first glance, it is evident that Australia was the most ideal place for British people in all 4 years.
It can be seen from the chart that almost British people selected Australia and Spain to live. In 2004, there were just over 40000 people moving to Australia and the figure for Spain was about 35000 people. In the next year, the number of people choosing Australia slightly decreased, whereas it was not a remarkable change in Spain. In 2006, the number of people moving to Australia reached a peak at over 50000 people. However, there was a gradual drop in Spain in 2006 and 2007.
New Zealand and the USA were places being not interesting for British people. Just under 25000 people emigrated to New Zealand and the USA in 2004. In New Zealand, the number of people continued to rapidly drop to 20000 people in 2007. By contrast, the figure for the USA fell under 19000 people in 2005, then increasing to 25000 people in 2006 and dropping to approximately 20000 people in 2007
The number of people choosing France was low, at around 23000 people in 2004. However, this figure suddenly rose to 33000 people in 2005. Then the figure considerably dropped to about 18000 people in 2007.
