The bar chart below shows the hours per week that teenagers spend doing certain activities in Chester from 2002 to 2007.
The bar chart gives the number of hours adolescents in Chester spent for seven activities: going to pubs, watching television, shopping, doing homework, doing sport, watching DVDs and bowling from 2002 to 2007.
Overall, there was a significant increase in the quantity of hours teenagers spending on going to discos, watching television and shopping, while several activities like doing homework and sport or bowling saw a decrease. Teenagers spent 25 hours to watch television in the first given year and this trend continued going up to around 37 hours in 2007. Similarly, the number of hours they went to discos and shopping increased dramatically as about twice as they used to do in 2002, from about 7 to 17 and 6 to 15 hours respectively.
On the other hand, they did not spend much time doing homework and sport in 5 years, which declined from around 12 and 10 hours back to 7 and 2. Furthermore, although there was no difference in the hours spending for watching DVDs in 2002 and 2007, at 10 hours each year, it reached a peak of nearly 18 hours in 2004.
